The active substance ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, is used for prophylaxis and treatment of Vitamin C deficiency diseases.
Vitamin C axicur® is available in two strengths: 200 mg and 500 mg. Vitamin C axicur® is available in a strength of 200 mg in packs of 50 or 100 film-coated tablets, and a strength of 500 mg in packs of 100 film-coated tablets.

What you should know about vitamin C and deficiency symptoms
Water-soluble and heat-sensitive, vitamin C is an essential nutrient, which must be regularly consumed in the diet. Vitamin C is found in fresh fruit and vegetables, for example, red peppers, oranges, acerola cherries, blackcurrants, cruciferous vegetables, and spinach.

Vitamin C deficiency may be associated with an unbalanced diet, heavy smoking, or certain illnesses.

Symptoms of vitamin C deficiency may include:

 

  • tiredness and increased susceptibility to infection
  • frequent inflammation or bleeding of the gums
  • poor wound healing

Vitamin C

  • increases iron uptake
  • promotes normal functioning of the immune and nervous systems
  • helps maintain normal energy metabolism
